Posters With Pizazz

What’s a party without a little Pizazz?!?

Poster Pizazz

I just came from celebrating a dear friend’s 60th birthday.  The theme was "Breakfast at Tiffany’s" and elegance was the order of the day!

Though we all tried to mimic the classic Audrey Hepburn style, wearing our black dresses and pearls, we knew that we would never be able to pull off her iconic good looks.  BUT, we were able to feel her beautiful presence with just the most basic of efforts with the help of some Posters with Pizazz.

Here are 4 ways that I used simple Posters to add a lot of fun and Pizazz to this party that you could could use to add Pizazz to any event that needs a little pop!.

1.  THE FRONT DOOR

darlings come in front door

For the front door, I took a piece of 20 x 30 inch foam board from the Dollar Tree (they come in white or black and are very sturdy).  I then  printed out an 8 1/2 x 11  picture of "Holly Golightly" from the movie “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.  I also printed words to welcome the guests (Darlings, Please Come In, It’s Janet’s Birthday Party!).  These print outs, on basic white printer paper, were then slightly cut down and glued to some sheets of 8 1/2 x 11 black and white striped paper.  A sparkling black ribbon was glued around the board, and voila, a festive Poster with Pizazz to welcome guests at  the front door!

2.  THE ENTRANCE HALL

Again, using a piece of 20 x 30 inch foam board, I took a photo of Holly Golightly and had it blown up to a 20 x 30 print for $10.  With some glue spray, I easily mounted the poster to the foam board.  This made it so easy to prop up against the centerpiece in the entrance hall.  It was a great backdrop for our photos and immediately set the mood when everyone walked in to the party!

3.  THE KITCHEN ISLAND WITH FOOD

Using the same method above, I glued another 20 x 30 printed poster to a piece of 20 x 30 foam board and simply placed it on the kitchen island using a large bowl to prop it up.  The poster made an eye popping statement when you entered the kitchen.  Inexpensive, show stopping, and no worries of floral arrangements!  (Did I mention she is beautiful??)

4.  TABLE DECOR AND FAVORS

Finally, I used 4 x 6 printed photos placed inside Dollar Tree photo frames for table decor.  The photos were all quotes from Audrey Hepburn, the star of “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”.  The pictures were found online, downloaded, and printed.  Super simple, super elegant, super fun for this particular party, but any photos or quotes could be used to suit your event.
