Day 11 - Praying for a Content & Positive Mind

Lord of Heaven,

Thank You that You have come so that we may have life, and have it to the full.  (John 10:10)   May we always remember that this is Your desire for us.  No matter what our circumstances, grant us eyes wide open to see the good, the bountiful, the positive that You provide.  Turn our perspectives away from continuous complaining and enable us to see the blessings in all things, especially in the midst of our trying situations.

As we learn to give thanks in all things, may our hearts be changed so that they may see Your overflowing, yet sometimes hidden, blessings.  (1Thessalonians 5:16-18)  Help us to look for the good in all things for he who seeks good will surely find it.  In contrast, evil will come to him who searches for that.  (Proverbs 11:27)

Help us to be content whatever our state of affairs, remembering that every precious thing we have is a gift from You.  (1 Timothy 6:6-8)  Whether we are living in need or living in plenty, show us how to be content.  (Philippians 4:12)  We ask that our hearts be satisfied with what Your hand provides.  (Proverbs 17:1)  Help us to avoid loving the things of the world and being obsessed with the many cravings that the world brings before us.  May we have wisdom to remember how temporary worldly desires are in comparison to Your eternal riches.  (1 John 2:15-17)

Cause us to be bold with the words we mull over in our minds.  May we recite words that are positive rather than negative.  We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.  (Phillipians 4:13)  With God all things are possible.  (Matthew 19:26)  We do not have to lose heart.  Our problems are nothing but light and momentary troubles, yet they are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.  (2 Corinthians 4:16-18)  We consider our present sufferings not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.   (Romans 8:18)
