Day 2 - Praying To Have A Relationship With God

Heavenly Father,

What an amazing privilege You have given us that we may come to know You, the creator of heaven and earth.  And though we may not see You physically, it is truth that we may know You, that You are real.  Thank You for Your promise that says if we seek You, we will find You if we look for You with all our heart and with all our souls.  (Deuteronomy 4:29/ Proverbs 8:17 / Matthew 7:7,8)  May this be our greatest desire in life.

We thank You for Your Son, Jesus, for whom is the pathway to knowing You.  We pray that our hearts would believe in Him as our Savior so that we would be born again.  (John 3:16 / 3:3-8)  Until the day we believe, we will not be able to see, to know or to understand You.  So we ask for the gift of grace You freely give to us which allows us to believe and to be saved.  (Ephesians 2:4-9)

We pray for You to cleanse us from our worldliness, to remove our hearts of stone and to give us a heart like Yours.  It is only as You put Your Spirit in us that we will be able to know You.  (Ezekiel 36:24-28)  When we come to You, may Your Spirit within us intercede for us, to search our hearts and minds so that we may converse with You in ways that our natural selves do not know how.  (Romans 8:26,27)

May our hearts be continually becoming one with Yours:  us in You and You in us.  (John 17:20-25)  May we constantly be reminded that apart from You we can do nothing; but as we remain in You, our lives will bear much fruit.  (John 15:1-8)

We thank You that You do call us into a relationshp with You, that You speak to us and that we may speak to You.  We ask that we may come to clearly recognize Your voice speaking to us and that we would be receptive to listen.  (John 10:14-27)  We pray that we would hear Your voice behind us saying, "This is the way, walk in it."  Help us, in our haste to vent all our problems, not to forget to also be still and listen for Your voice, for You are in heaven and we are on earth.  (Psalm 46:10 / Ecclesiastes 5:1,2)
