Day 28 - Praying For The Body Of Christ

Dear God,

We give You thanks for the body of Christ, for all those brothers and sisters in Christ who support us on our journey towards You.  We pray that each person's faith would be growing more and more, and that our love for one another would continue to increase.  We pray for perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trails any are enduring.  May those who are suffering be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which they are suffering.  (2 Thessalonians 1:3-10)

We pray for unity amongst the body of Christ.  May there be no divisions amongst us and may we be perfectly united in mind and thought.  (1 Corinthians 1:10-12)  Help us to be like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose as our Lord Jesus Christ.  May we do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than ourselves.  Teach us to look not only to our own interests, but also to the interests of others.  (Philippians 2:1-4)  May we make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.  (Ephesians 4:1-5)

We pray for those on the front lines who are teaching and proclaiming Your truths.  We pray that Your message would spread rapidly and be honored, that those who bring it may be delivered from wicked and evil men, and that they would be strengthened and protected from the evil one.  (2 Thessalonians 3:1-5)  We ask that they would not teach false doctrines, nor devote themselves to teachings which promote controversies rather than God’s work.  May their goal always be to love others.  (1 Timothy 1:3-6)  May they be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks.  (1 Peter 3:15)

We pray for all in the body that we would not be ashamed to testify about God and that we would be willing to suffer for the gospel.  (2 Timothy 1:8-12)  May we keep our heads in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, and discharge all the duties of our ministry.  Help us to fight the good fight, finish the race, keep the faith.  May we together receive the crown of rightousness, which the Lord, the rightous Judge, will award on that day, to all who have longed for His appearing.  (2 Timothy 4:2-8)
