The Miracle Morning

The Miracle Morning

Early this summer I read, on a blog that I subscribe to, about a book called “The Miracle Morning: the not so-obvious secret guaranteed to transform your life before 8 AM,” by Hal Elrod.

As a tried and true, albeit frustrated, Night Owl, I was interested to see if this Miracle Morning Secret could transform such a Morning Hater as myself!

After reading Hal Elrod’s book, I am here to tell you that for me it worked!  And because I feel so fortunate to have learned about this book from another blog, I felt compelled to share it with other readers here on My Sunshine Room.

The Miracle Morning is based on the argument that how you wake up each day, and the morning routine that you create for yourself, dramatically determines your level of success in every single area of your life.

The joy and beauty of this book is that it encourages each person to create a morning routine that is simple, empowering and fun (yeah, right, fun! it’s the morning!).  Seriously, I am here to tell you that after reading this book, and creating my morning routine, I now REALLY look forward to waking up each day!

And here are a few reasons why:

*I have more energy and excitement about the activities I get to do each day.

*I am staying more focused on what I want to accomplish and have avenues to make subtle shifts when I am off track.

*My productivity has increased.

*I am living into my purpose with greater joy and assurance.

The premise of The Miracle Morning is that by waking up each day with a plan, you are welcoming a miraculous life that you have created.  In opposition to that, the author, Hal Elrod, says,

"When you delay waking up until you have to—meaning you wait until the last possible moment to get out of bed and start your day—consider that what you’re actually doing is resisting your life. ”

The choice is ours!

The Miracle Morning Plan is established through what Elrod calls his daily Life S.A.V.E.R.S.

S = Silence

A = Affirmations

V = Visualization

E = Exercise

R - Reading

S = Scribing (Journaling)

By incorporating these 6 activities into your morning, your day is transformed from just an Average Day to a Miraculous Day that benefits you and the world around you!

What’s more, the plan can be done in 6 minutes or 60.  The freedom to create exactly what works for your schedule and goals is what makes this plan so realistic, encouraging and fun.

I strongly encourage you to read The Miracle Morning if you are looking for some inspiration to be more focused in your life, but if you don’t have the time right now to read yet another book, you can tune in and listen to Hal Elrods’ Free Inspiring Podcasts.

As an add on, here is My Miracle Morning Routine:

*As soon as conscious before opening eyes, immediately start singing in my mind “Rise & Shine & give God the glory glory” (thus the mug in the photo above!)

*Recite the .  .  .  of Rise & Shine

(i.e. Rise & Shine there are miracles to be had today, Rise & Shine there is beauty to be seen today, Rise & Shine there are blessings to give today, Rise & Shine there are blessings to receive today, Rise & Shine there are people to comfort today, Rise & Shine there are people to encourage today, Rise & Shine there is laughter to be had today  .  .   .  Rise & Shine! )

*Throw off covers - Stretch each leg in the air and roll out of bed

*Immediately put on bathrobe laying next to bed - Open blinds

*Gargle with mouthwash - Splash cold water on face

Chi Machine - Miracle Morning

*Energize with chi machine for 10 - 20 minutes (more on chi machine in an upcoming post)

*While on chi machine recite Affirmations (click here to see mine)

*Full Body Stretch - Up and atom ant!

I hope you will be inspired to create a Miracle Morning that energizes, excites and gives you great purpose!
