How To Grow Daffodils - Also known as the Lent Lilly

Did you know that daffodils are the birthday flower of March?  They are a symbol of rebirth, a sign of the new beginnings that come with spring.  They are also known as the "Lent Lilly" because they bloom during the season of Lent, just prior to Easter which is represented by the Lilly.

The daffodil is also the American Cancer Society's symbol of new life and hope that a cure for cancer will be found.  They even host a fundraiser in January (sorry we missed it, but be on the lookout next year!) called Daffodil Days where bulbs are sold and delivered in the hopes of bringing hope and cheer to the recipients and awareness and funds for the Cancer Society.

Try planting these easy bulbs and bring a bouquet of cheer to a friend in need!
